Create a mixed-media sunflower by painting with acrylics on a 12” x 18” paper and then draw over it with pen.

Day Camps For Adults

June 5-9…STAINED GLASS PANEL…Ages 16 & up…9-12AM or 2-5PM or 6-9 PM

Instructor: Connie Fritz…Make a stained glass panel up to 15 inches square from a great selection of patterns. Choose from glass on hand to compliment your style. All tools and supplies are included

June 12-16…Rigid Heddle Loom Weaving…9 Am until 12 Noon

Instructor: Wyatt Nocera…Participants ages 15 and up will create a scarf with yarn of their choosing from our stock of beautiful donated yearns or purchase 350 yards of worsted weight yarn-found in the craft

section of local stores. Minimum 3/Maximum 6

June 21-23rdAdult Pottery – Ages: 16+ years…9-12am or 6-9pm

Part One – Hand Thrown and Wheel…Part one will be devoted to learning slab, coil and template

methods to make functional or sculptural forms.

June 29-30thPart Two Part two will focus on glazing and decorating techniques. Pick up: July 3rd

You only need your hands and imagination when you come to this three hour class. You will have several functional and fun clay pieces after firing. This is a hand building class (wheel throwers welcome too) where you can learn the best way to build any form you can imagine. We will introduce ways of altering forms,decorating, and tips on handling the clay at each stage of the process; from wet to glazing and firing. We will explore how surface texture alters the resulting aesthetic of a glazed piece. Emphasis will be on the growth of each individual student. Beginners will focus on basic technique while more advanced students will have the opportunity to explore individual projects in their own style. As you learn how clay behaves, you can use your hands and imagination to make something useful and beautiful, odd and funny, or strange and exciting…..or a little of it all! This class is in two parts over the course of two weeks with a pick up date on the third week to allow for drying and firing time Supply fee is $15 for 25lb bag of clay. Minimum3/Maximum 8

June 26-30 …Needlepoint/Bargello…9 AM -12 Noon

Instructor: Harvie Ann Cox…Learn the basic needlepoint stitches in creating a pin cushion or eyeglass case. Bargello stitch moves fast in a geometric pattern. $5 supply fee. Minimum 4/maximum 8

June 26-30…Ribbon & basic embroidery stitches, Madeira applique…2 PM-5PM

Instructor: Harvie Ann Cox…Embellish a shirt with beautiful silk ribbon embroidery. Embroidery stitches will be practiced on fabric and added to the shirt or another project of your choice. Shadow embroidery and Madeira applique will be done on Swiss batiste for a handkerchief. You will need a denim shirt or solid colored woven fabric shirt of your choice. $8 supply fee (includes needles, silk ribbon, batiste, lace, floss, practice fabric. If you have a small embroidery hoop, please bring it along with small scissors for trimming thread and ribbon.

July 10-14…Pine Needle Basketry…2 PM – 5 PM   OR   6 PM – 9PM

Instructor: Virginia Lowman…Learn to coil a basket made from long leaf pine needles. Students will complete one basket-possibly two! If you can hand sew – you can coil a pine needle basket!

$25 material fee.  Minimum 3/Maximum 10

July 17-21…Multi Harness Loom Weaving…9 AM – 12 Noon

July 24-28…Foundations of Mosaics- Beginner
