Celebrate the Arts

The month of May is filled with fun events and workshops to spark your imagination and inspire your next big project! Visit the David Boyd Plein Air Exhibition on May 3rd then try it yourself with a trip around Moultrie. Listen to the Arts Center students perform piano and voice and watch Lovedy’s students on stage in their big ballet performance!  Cheer along with the band during the Junior High and High School production of the Music Man. Don’t forget Date Night Cooking with Kara and Ashlee Parrish’s Last Thursday workshop! End the evening with the Patron Gala and learn more about the Arts Center with a tour of the facility and exhibits! Participate in all of our events and workshops for a true celebration!

Artie Hunt
Artie is playing hide and seek and wants you to come find her! Follow the clues to locate her around the county. Return her to the Arts Center for a prize! Clues will be announced every Monday on our social media pages and in the newspaper.

May Door Hanger Workshop

Brighten up any room with a jar shaped door hanger. Fill it with fireflies, jam, or any of your favorite things that remind you of summer! Invite your friends for this easy and fun craft! All supplies are provided.

Date Night: Cooking with Kara

Get a taste of Asian cuisine with traditional pork and vegetarian dumplings with dipping sauces to enjoy. Make your own wanton soup and vegetable stir fry to enjoy with your date during one of Kara’s cooking classes.

Last Thursday Workshop: Textured Ceramic Wall Pocket

In this two part workshop, you will learn the slab technique and how to texture clay to create your own ceramic wall pocket perfect for displaying small plants and other items.

I Hope You Dance Ballet Performance

Young dancers from Lovedy Griner’s ballet classes perform a beautiful number inspired by the song “I Hope You Dance”including music from “The Wizard of Oz.”

With his fast-talking style, “Professor” Harold Hill convinces the parents of River City to buy instruments and uniforms for their youngsters in order to save them, but chaos ensues as Hill’s credentials are questioned and he is called upon to prove himself to the citizens of River City. Performed by ages 6th – 12th grade.
