The Moultrie Service League is a volunteer organization whose mission is to encourage and support art education in our community. The Kaleidoscope Director & Art Educator is a part-time job offered by the Moultrie Service League during the fiscal school year. The position provides extended art education for 2nd and 4th graders in the Kaleidoscope Museum located at the Colquitt County Arts Center.
The Kaleidoscope Director & Art Instructor will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression, using skills and techniques of artistic expression; to develop understanding and appreciation of several art techniques and to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art.
As the Kaleidoscope Director & Art Educator, you are expected to coordinate a weekly schedule with school administrators and their 2nd and 4th grade classes. There are 10 elementary schools in our district. You will host each school for four days. You will provide unique, age-appropriate art activities that coordinate with current exhibits or art history.
Daily hours are 8:00am – 3:00pm.
Each School visit will include, at minimum:
• Tour of Colquitt County Arts Center
• Three to four art projects per day
• Exhibit tour and discussion of techniques used in exhibit
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
• Knowledge of Art and Art History
• Bachelor’s Degree: Art Education Degree preferred
• A creative mind and enthusiasm for teaching
